The embodied energy of a product is typically measured in MJ/kg (megajoules of energy needed to make a kilogram of product). This system of measurement allows potential consumers to evaluate the "environmental impact" of a product before use.

ICP system: 1.4 MJ/kg (Concrete pavers 1.2 MJ/kg + Sand 0.1 MJ/kg + Aggregate 0.1 MJ/kg)
