Remember that when choosing a paver it is always important to consider the surrounding environment. Pavers that are a few shades lighter than any building or house on the property won't compete for attention. Brick-colored pavers add a warmth to wood or stone buildings, and gray-toned pavers are often paired with brick buildings to minimize over matching. Monotony of color can be broken up by using a blended-paver or combining two types of pavers. Whatever design effect is desired it can potentially  be achieved through the use of paver color.

4 Easy Steps to consider when choosing a paver color...

Picture
1) Unity
Choose pavers with similar tones for a coordinated effect. Light tones will reflect light and make an area seem larger, whereas darker tones will absorb light and make an area seem smaller.

2) Blended
A multi-bled paver can consist of up to 4 varying colors. The different tones and hues blend seemlessly with their surroundings and will often camouflage any stains that many appear on the pavers over time.

3) Environment
A good rule of thumb is to consider how the sun hits a site. Important factors to account for are how long an area stays sunny, which direction the shade is casted, and whether or not it is desired to make the area feel larger or smaller.

4) Achieving Goals
What specific effect are you trying to achieve? Should the look be more of a subdued paver to blend in with the landscape or more of a spiced up paver that will pop against the surroundings?
